Within my wound care and diabetic foot care program, and the infection control specialist program, Health Appeal organized a lecture titled ‘Biofilm in Wound Management’ with Professor Khaled Saleh from Iraq. The lecture covered three key aspects:

1. What is biofilm or bacterial biofilm?
2. How is bacterial biofilm formed?
3. Approaches to dealing with it.

The majority of the lecture was dedicated to addressing chronic wounds where the presence of biofilm inhibits healing.
