COVID Survival (Medical Support) – خيرك شفاء لغيرك
This initiative reflects the compassion and solidarity of our community during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with Umniah, NAUA – a Crown Prince Foundation Initiative, and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Health Appeal Society provides oxygen generators to vulnerable Jordanian patients recovering from COVID-19.
The program helps patients continue vital respiratory therapy safely at home, reducing the burden on hospitals and supporting families who cannot afford long-term oxygen care.

Goal: To ensure that every recovering COVID-19 patient, regardless of financial status, has access to essential medical equipment that supports their health and dignity.

Period: Nov 2021 → Nov 2022
Medical reports reviewed: 82
Patients supported at home: 31 (with 8 still under follow-up at project close)
National reach: cases from Central, Northern, and Southern regions across Jordan
Device lifecycle & support: 23 devices retrieved after recovery, 25 disinfections, 3 repairs, 8 air-filter replacements, and 17 home visits for technical/clinical follow-up (filters changed after ~1,500 hrs of use or 6 months, per protocol).
Challenges we solved
Hospital handover limits: coordinated deliveries immediately post-discharge when in-hospital handover wasn’t possible.
Administrative delays: expedited approvals through close coordination with the Ministry of Social Development (typical turnaround ~24 hours).
Non-Jordanian requests: created a referral pathway to partner NGOs.
Longer-term oxygen needs / non-COVID respiratory illness: adjusted scope in the patient’s medical interest and added regular filter changes + home visits.
Impact story
“After weeks of instability, my father could finally rest at home.” Families told us that receiving a concentrator at home meant fewer hospital trips, safer recovery, and peace of mind. Across Jordan’s central, northern, and southern regions, 31 families regained stability through home oxygen therapy; proof that community solidarity can heal as powerfully as medicine.
